Description

Short medieval piece using old instruments such as the medieval lute and the hurdy-gurdy. Soft, melancholic music. It begins with the lute playing the main theme and embellishing on it in an improvised style. A little further on, the lute is joined by the hurdy-gurdy, which plays the role of a drone, and the choir adds a celestial dimension in playing the theme in unison. The mandolin accompanies the ensemble, picking out chords which harmonize with the main melody.
