MIMI

Description

Royalty-free Balkan music with percussion, double bass, and brass. Nostalgic, contemplative music, but also – as in the purest tradition of Eastern music – plaintive and sad. This piece begins with the baritone saxophone playing a melodic motif and receiveing a sort of response from teh zither (a table sitar original to Hungary but also used in certain folkloric music in Switzerland, France, and Slovenia). The soprano saxophone plays a sort of complaint with a melody played tremolo. All this is soon joined by the brass section and the rhythm section. The accordion intervenes later in a solo improvisation. Soft, delicate music, with a great variety of sounds and dynamics... a must-hear!
