Malhoune is a musical style found in Morocco which has its origins in Arab-Andalusian music of the 12th century. It is in the form of a sung poem. Malhoune is a soft, peaceful music that makes me think of the month of Ramadan and of past times. Interpreted here by the violins, a quanun, as well as an ensemble of Moroccan percussion instruments.
